Each used unit we work the latching & door handle mechanisms to make sure they function properly for you. We recommend working these functions by hand before installing. This will help to diagnose any other issue(s) in the latching system & you can be sure the latch mechanism works properly.
You can't lock the door from the inside with the early left door latch mechanism, it doesn't have the bar to lock to the fingers (see pics 1 & 2 upper left hand corner). Originally the early style passenger's exterior door handle locked from the outside.
