Since you can't see the rubber bumper once the check strap is installed in your Metropolitan, we have a couple of pictures of it installed outside of the car.
To replace this bumper, remove the rivet or whatever is holding the check strap to your door post, and push the check strap in. The spring steel shoulders hold the check strap to a mounting bracket inside your door. You will have to pull it through the inside of your door for final removal.
