Finally a brand new set of 3:9 ring and pinion gears.
These will only fit in an original 4:22 Metropolitan housing or if you have a rear end that originally came with a 3:9 - then it's a direct replacement.
This is not a straight drop in replacement (for an original Metro rear end). It will take extra machine work to install into your original 4:22 rear end housing but you can be assured it will work properly if done by a professional rear end rebuilder.
This gear set is only for an experienced professional rebuilder. It's not an easy or quick modification.
They are an Oerlikon cut - not Gleeson (like originals.) Oerlikon is a modern method of gear cutting - far superior to the Gleeson method but a little more difficult to set up. The cut of the gear is more “banana” shape, therefore running quieter then the “old” Gleeson equivalent.
